Momentum: Using movement to create energy

Momentum is all about leveraging the energy of movement to create more movement. It’s the idea that people in motion tend to stay in motion, while people at rest tend to stay at rest. It’s the tools and techniques that helps you construct your way-forward strategy in a way that maximizes movement, creating early inertia to help you keep moving forward.

By Malcolm Gladwell, a fantastic book for a life engineer

This is the book we talked about in the workshop, with the story of the museum about to buy a roman sculpture. It’s called Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking, by Malcolm Gladwell. It’s a phenomenal book and a quick read (empirically) urging us to be better at trusting our instinct. But it also helps you know when trusting your instinct and making fast decisions is right, and when it might not be. I highly recommend this book for any real life engineer.

Purpose Finder
Find out why you’re here!

The Purpose Finder uses the 16 Elements of Success as a foundation to help you discover what your purpose is in life.

Warning: This is a difficult assessment. It takes some time and it takes some emotional labor. But it’s worth it. When you’re done, you’ll have a clearer sense of purpose, and if not a destination, you’ll at least have a sense of direction.

How do I create momentum in life?

How am I going
to get there?

People in motion tend to stay in motion, while people at rest tend to stay at rest. But momentum can work both ways. You can develop momentum toward an undesired destination that then becomes inertia (something you have to overcome) to course correct. In this session we’ll make sure your Plan (Pl), Growth (Gr), Investment (In), Environment (En), Identity (Id) and Relationships (Re) are creating the kind of momentum that will lead you to your objective (Ob), and not away from it. Because building momentum in life is one of the most fundamental characteristics of those who succeed.
